Getting the Low Down on Coilovers
Our fully illustrated fitting guide for GAZ suspension kits — everything you need before you start the install.
Installation and Safety
Gazz-matic Products should only be fitted by a suitably qualified person, as per the original equipment.
- Never grip the piston rod, as this will damage the highly polished surface and may cause premature failure of the damper.
- After lowering or raising any vehicle, it is necessary to reset the tracking and, in some cases, also the camber settings. These should be returned to factory settings where possible.
- All shock absorbers must be installed in accordance with the vehicle manufacturer's recommendations. Fasteners should be tightened and torqued to the specified manufacturer settings to ensure correct fitment, performance, and safety.
- When fitting non-standard wheels and tyres and lowering the vehicle, it is the owner's responsibility to ensure adequate body and tyre clearance.
Setting Up Your Car
To set up your car:
- Set all the damper adjusters to mid setting
- Adjust further to suit your needs
- Fully anticlockwise = soft setting
- Clockwise = harder setting
- The Gaz shock adjuster affects both bump and rebound. Adjustments are made at the same time at a fixed ratio. This is usually Bump 1:3 Rebound.
- Anticlockwise until it stops = softest
- Each clockwise click = firmer damping
Warning: Excessive over-adjustment may cause damage. Never ride the car on the bump stops - this reduces damper life and handling performance.
Using stiffened/uprated shocks & springs increases load on other suspension components. Gaz Shocks does not accept liability for premature failure of related parts. For best results, have your geometry set by a specialist.

Important Information
Changing ride height can affect handling, suspension wear, steering geometry, and tyre life. Gaz Shocks will not accept liability for excessive wear or damage resulting from changes to ride height. Unless otherwise stated, always follow the manufacturer's geometry setting.
Ensure wheels and tyres provide sufficient clearance after installation. Gaz Shocks is not responsible for tyre/bodywork damage due to inadequate clearance.
Any advice from Gaz Shocks is given in good faith, but final responsibility for suitability lies with the customer. This does not affect your statutory rights.
Warning: Do not overtighten the base control knob - this will lock the adjustment.
